Over the next few weeks, various health professionals will join forces as collaborators to address the most important topics for healthy aging. Here are two more, a pharmacist and a dentist. Please let us know what other topics you would like us to discuss.

“I studied at the University of Montreal and graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy in 1996. During my studies I worked at the Notre-Dame Hospital in Montreal in the pharmacy department in the preparation of sterile products and inventory management. After my graduation, I worked in 4 pharmacies of Mr. Jean Coutu.

Subsequently, in 1997, I opened my first pharmacy in Sherbrooke and developed very good collaborations with distinguished specialists from the CHUS Fleurimont site. In 2008 I continued my professional career in my new pharmacy in Richmond. Over the years, I have contributed to the development of scientific articles and spoke at several community conferences. In 2016 I was Treasurer in the Federation of Pharmacists of Quebec (FPQ) and since 2017; I am now a pharmacist within the GMF of Val-Saint-François, while keeping my branch in Richmond. I am also vice-president of eRX Optimal, a company that provides professional services to pharmacists. I care about the health of my patients and love my profession! “- Philippe Leng, pharmacist.

“I am a dentist, graduated in 1993 from the University of Dentistry in Monastir, Tunisia. I practiced dentistry in Morocco, in a private practice until 2002, when I immigrated to Quebec. After passing the exams of the Order of Dentistry of Quebec, I was able to obtain my recognized diplomas and I worked in a few clinics in Montreal before moving to Saint-Jérôme to pursue my career as a dentist.

Passionate about technology, I started using CEREC to treat my patients. These dental restorations are drawn using computer software and then manufactured by a robotic machining unit within the same appointment represent for me, the dentistry of the future which has become a reality today. Being able to offer my patients a comfortable and almost definitive solution to their dental problems has changed my vision of dentistry. Then, on the same technological thought, I became interested in Invisalign, a concept of orthodontics through computer, which makes it possible to move the teeth using transparent aligners, as would dental braces, without the inconveniences that cause the latter with numerous dental appointments, pain and visual appearance of the metal braces. In recent years, I have become the owner of a clinic where I practice and with my team, we work hard to offer our patients durable, comfortable and high quality dentistry. I am opening new offices at the Tour St – Jérôme, 995, rue Maher, suite 103. St. Jérôme -QC J5L 0A8. Hope to see you there.” – Jamil El Kabbaj, DMD.
