  • Helps maintain and support cardiovascular health.
  • Antioxidants for the maintenance of good health.

Vitoli®‘s CARDIOVASCULAR is recommended to reduce oxidation, while supporting the health of the cardiovascular system by taking Coenzyme Q10 and vitamins B6, B9 and B12. Antioxidants are not all equivalent. The quantities and sources of antioxidants found in the Vitoli® product spectrum have been carefully selected to ensure quality and effectiveness. It is recommended to take Vitoli®’s CARDIOVASCULAR with a meal to facilitate the absorption of coenzyme Q10.

It is now clear that the activity of mitochondria (our cellular energy powerhouses) deteriorates as we get older and is directly related to cardiovascular health (Marzetti et al, 2013). This deterioration of their activity causes, among other things, an increase in oxidation levels and damage to endothelial functions. In addition to the antioxidants of Provitol® Complex, Vitoli®‘s CARDIOVASCULAR contains coenzyme Q10 needed for proper mitochondria function and the vitamins B6, B9 and B12 which help reduce homocysteine levels, a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease (Lee et al, 2010).

  • A health claim is allowed in Europe regarding olive polyphenols ranging from a dose of 5mg/day of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives. EFSA has clearly found benefits on the basis of scientific evidence for the prevention of blood lipid oxidation (EFSA Journal, 2011).
  • Coenzyme Q10 plays an important role in the energy production of cells and organs of the human body. A large number of pathologies can benefit from a coenzyme Q10 supplement. Garrido-Maraver and his collaborators (2014) made a complete review.
  • Epidemiological studies have shown that homocysteine is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. A decrease of 20% to 40% in homocysteine levels by the intake of vitamins B6, B9 and B12 did not clearly demonstrate a reduction in risk (Lee et al, 2010). The low potential observed, however, is valid in view of vitamin B12 deficiencies in aging populations (Kolber and Houle, 2014) and other benefits of vitamins B6 and B9.
  • The use of statins may decrease the concentration of coenzyme Q10 and Meformin may decrease vitamin B12 levels.

Provitol®, Olive Extract (Olea europaea, fruit)

Hu and colleagues (2014) highlighted the beneficial effects of hydroxytyrosol on cardiovascular health in general, blood lipid levels, blood pressure and the prevention of atherosclerosis. Part of these benefits would come from the inhibition of the metabolic pathways of aging (Menendez et al, 2013). The Vitoli® Provitol® Complex formulation is equivalent to 100% of the required hydroxytyrosol dose from EFSA’s health claim in Europe (for 5 mg: Helps to reduce blood lipid oxidation).

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is a naturally occurring molecule found in the cell walls of mitochondria and plays a very important role in the energy production of cells and in the control of lipid oxidation (Eilat-Adar et al. 2013).

Vitamins B6, B9 (folic acid) and B12

These group B vitamins are necessary for a large number of cellular functions. They are found in many foods including leafy green vegetables, legumes, whole grain products, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, bananas, avocados (folic acid (B9) and B6), meat, fish, eggs and dairy products (vitamin B12).

Non-Medicinal Ingredients

Magnesium stearate,
Microcrystalline cellulose,
Hypromellose.

A non-medicinal ingredient would be considered as any substance added to a natural health product to confer the desired consistency or form on the medicinal ingredients. It is therefore a filler, facilitating the capsulation process. They do not influence the health benefits of the product.
