Dino Halikas is a certified naturopath who graduated from the Montreal Naturopathic Science Teaching Institute in 1997. He holds a certificate in medical biology from the University of Quebec at Trois Rivières and has taken numerous courses in functional medicine with international experts. He continues to develop his knowledge in the field of nutrition by reading the most recent publications on a weekly basis. He has been working in the field of integrative health since 1992. Initially as a representative and sales director for a Quebec food supplement company and then as a consultant and trainer for many Canadian companies working in health through products from natural origin.
Dino is a teacher recognized by his peers for his ease in popularizing the science of physiological mechanisms linked to healthy lifestyles and in particular, to diet. He has taught and lectured at numerous events across Canada for almost 30 years now, and continues to offer webinars and consultations to share his experience. Since 2014, he has been editor-in-chief of the magazine Vitalité Québec, with more than 50,000 copies printed each month in Quebec and available in natural product stores.
Dino has been interested in low-carb diets and fasting for several years for their benefits in metabolic health and diabetes. He is part of a group of specialists who collaborate in educating the population about this lifestyle through social networks.
His passion for integrative health has led him to campaign for more than 20 years for the integration of naturopathy into our current health system which is in direct need of it. Dino is part of this new movement of naturopaths with a solid base in life sciences, wanting to restore its credentials to a profession that can meet our needs in terms of chronic diseases and prevention. He is president of the Association des Naturopathes Agrés du Québec (ANAQ), whose mandate is to bring together Quebec naturopaths with the best training in order to obtain professional status, as is the case in six Canadian provinces, 25 American states and several other countries in the world.
Dino thus joins the group of writers of the Vitoli blog, because he firmly believes that the solution to living healthier longer lies in collaboration between different professionals in order to educate the population.
