André Perreault is a professional with over 40 years of experience, 38 of which as an owner of a pharmacy. He acquired six pharmacies as of 1979 until today. He currently owns a high-volume pharmacy of thePharmaprix franchise.
His great interest in human health and his openness led him to explore the world of alternative medicine, having him obtain, in 1972, a diploma in massage therapy from the Massage Therapy Institute of Montreal. In 1979, he became a doctor in acupuncture, at the Institut de massothérapie de Montréal, in 1980, naturopath and member of the l’Ordre des naturothérapeutes du Québec. In 2016, he became a pharmacist specializing in natural health products. He was the first graduate of the Académie de l’Apothicaire of Quebec.
So well-rounded, one day, he’s a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Université de Montréal, and the next day, a supervisor for many young pharmacists in training, he has completed multiple specialized certificates on various topics such as dyslipidemia, asthma management, strategies on diabetes management, ambulatory anticoagulation, etc.
André Perreault is a valued speaker for pharmaceutical companies (Wyeth, Bristol-Myers-Squibb, Novartis, Pfizer, etc.), on a variety of topics, to an audience of nurses, pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacists.
For more than 27 years, he has been involved in many causes in his community and has helped raise funds for many organizations, including the House of Palliative Care (Hudson), the women’s center La Moisson (L’Île Perrot) or the foundation of the Suroît hospital (Valleyfield).
Strongly convinced that Quebec’s culture of health is set to change, he wants to get involved in promoting healthy lifestyle habits, knowledge about the health of aging and the best preventative measures for the public. He collaborated for the book ”Live Younger, TWO Times Longer”, specifically for the chapter on de-prescription.
